SCM has a new president


Giovanni Gemmani, the new president of SCM Group.

Shareholders at SCM Group Spa have appointed Giovanni Gemmani as the group's new president.
 
The decision was made at the group's Rimini headquarters by SCM's shareholders, who also elected a new Board of Directors.
 
Giovanni Gemmani, 45, is successor to his sister Linda Gemmani, upon the termination of her office. He is married with six children, is an electronics engineer who took office in the SCM Group in 1993 as R&D director, then as general director of Gabbiani, Mahros and DMC, and more recently the SCM brand name.
 
Alfredo Aureli, Adriano Aureli, Andrea Aureli, Enrico Aureli, Giovanni Gemmani, Linda Gemmani, Mario Molteni and Nicola Alessandro Saldutti are now all members of the Board. Enrico Aureli and two outside managers, Mario Molteni and Nicola Alessandro Saldutti, are all new members. Alfredo Aureli was confirmed as CEO and Adriano Aureli is now vice president.
 
The SCM Group is a world leader in the manufacture of woodworking and panel processing machinery and systems. It employs 3,800 people, has 27 production plants in Italy, 26 overseas subsidiaries and exports over 70 per cent of its total production to 120 countries through subsidiaries, distributors and agents. The group's turnover is around 700 million euros (£547 million).
